Bed Bug Heat Treatment Process

Heat... The best method for killing bed bugs!

Toronto's Green Bed Bug Exterminator™

Heat Assault 500 X Exterminating bed bugs with heat involves a simple process where the whole home is heated to a certain temperature known as the Thermal Kill Range. For bed bugs, the home is heated to within this range of temperature and kept there for a number of hours. The heat is permeated throughout the home because bed bugs can and do hide literally anywhere in a home.

Our process for the heat remediation involves a pre-treatment, no obligation assessment of your particular situation. Our assessor will meet with you and inspect your home to ensure the following:

  • That you do in fact have bed bugs
  • The extent of your bed bug infestation

If your assessor cannot find evidence of bed bugs in your home but you are receiving bites at night, he may suggest that you have a K-9 inspection done first.

After determining that you do indeed have bed bugs and that a bed bug extermination is in fact necessary, the assessor will give you a written quote. The quoted amount will not change regardless of circumstance and will be valid for 30 days from when you had the visit. If bed bugs are found in your home it is, however, recommended that you receive treatment sooner than later.

During your initial assessment visit your assessor will provide you with a Customer Information Package detailing some important things that he will make you aware of. This will include a pre-treatment checklist detailing some articles that must be removed from your home prior to your heat treatment. An example of some articles that must be removed are aerosol cans, candles, lipstick , oil paintings, heat sensitive medication and fire extinguishers.

Our Superior Bed Bug Heat Treatment Process

Once your assessment is complete a date is scheduled for your crew to begin the bed bug treatment. The crew will explain the methods that will be used for your bedbug extermination. Each home is unique and requires adjustment to the placement of the equipment to optimize the heat extermination process.

Upon arrival your crew will:

  • Inspect your home to ensure that certain articles have been removed as per above
  • Consult with you on any points of interest that you may have
  • Answer any of your questions that you may have prior to commencing the work

Once the treatment begins it will take anywhere from 6 to 12 hours to complete depending on the following:

  • The size of your home
  • The severity of the bed bug infestation in your home and on your furniture
  • Access to every inch of your home (tighter spaces take a bit longer to set up in)

Your crew will constantly monitor the progress of your treatment, temperature etc. and will regularly adjust your furniture to ensure even and optimal airflow and temperature for each piece to ensure 100% bedbug eradication throughout your home and belongings.

Before your bed bug treatment is completed your crew will ensure that every inch of your home has been thoroughly treated. Your home will remain warm for some hours afterwards but will be safe to re-enter that very same day!
